On Tuesday, May 7th, 2019 the PHS Chapter of the Spanish Honor Society, León Felipe, welcomed its newest inductees. This marks the fourth induction ceremony since it was established in 2017. The following students were inducted: Emili Bautista Hernández, Callie Brown, Belle Kneece, Nayelie López, Riley Micolowsky, Lydia Mills, Juan Pablo Posso Achury, and Katelyn Wren. We would like to congratulate these students on their accomplishment! Furthermore, we thank the parents for their support and for joining us in celebrating these youngsters! We would also like to thank Mr. Hearn for his ongoing support of World Languages and joining us in welcoming these students into the Spanish Honor Society and being a part of our ceremony.

PHS Spanish Honor Society
It The Sociedad Honoraria Hispánia (Spanish Honor Society) is an organization that celebrates and recognizes student excellence in the study of Spanish and to promote the study of the Hispanic Culture. Our Chapter was established in 2017 by Mrs. Elizabeth Ben Yahia and is named in honor of the Spanish Poet León Felipe. The Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica was established in the United States in 1953 and was known as the Spanish National Honor Society. In 1959, its name changed to Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica and it is sponsored by the American Association of Teachers Of Spanish and Portuguese (AATSP). Each semester, students who are identified for their exemplary academic achievement in Spanish are invited to be inducted to the SHH.
